Expecting

We’re expecting a lot this year! Within the next two months, Kimberly will fulfill her two year, full time language school commitment. She’ll decrease her hours at school to part-time and increase her responsibilities as Children’s Minister. We also expect Lance to finish his full-time Chinese studies by the end of the year. And in the coming months, he’ll be putting together a worship ministry cell group to encourage, disciple, and lead the members in our church who are involved in the worship ministry.

But that’s not all God has in store for us this year. We’re also expecting the birth of our first child in November! Baby Hampton is due to enter the world around November 21st. And we truly feel that Thanksgiving couldn’t be a better time to welcome our new little one. We are overjoyed and extremely grateful for this blessing and

great responsibility that God has entrusted us with. We can’t believe the love we alrea

dy feel towards our child.

After announcing our news to our family, one of the main questions people had for us was will we have the baby here in Taiwan. And though it will be difficult for us to be separated from our families (and also quite difficult for them) during that special time, we trust that God has called us here to Taiwan for this time. And so we will welcome Baby Hampton into the world here in Taichung. Thankfully God has led us to a wonderful doctor (Dr. Huang) at China Medical University Hospital. This hospital is very foreigner friendly, and we feel very comfortable with Dr. Huang.

This first trimester has been a typical first trimester: morning sickness, fatigue, etc. So we would appreciate your prayers for Kimberly as she tries to balance school, ministry and home responsibilities. And of course, we would also be grateful for prayers for the baby to be healthy and continue to develop and grow in his/her home for the next several months.
